8 Foods To Help You Lose Weight

There are lots of foods that can help you gain weight. This comes as no surprise. What you may not know is that there are also a number of foods that can trim fat and help you to shed the pounds.

Self magazine rounded up a series of studies that point out eight of these fat-fighting foods. Some, such as berries, cinnamon and soybeans, you might have heard about. Others, not so much:

Mustard It’s heaven on a soft pretzel, but mustard may also be a weight loss wonder. Turmeric, the spice that gives mustard its color, may slow the growth of fat tissues, a study in the journal Endocrinology finds. Use it on sandwiches instead of mayo, or sprinkle turmeric on cauliflower pre-roasting to give it a kick. Try it on tuna salad—I promise it adds zest.
