General Information: Grown and used
extensively in India, China and Thailand.
Medicinal Uses: Andrographis is
used extensively in Ayurvedic medicine to a number
of effects, including increasing appetite, diminishing
flatulence and strengthening digestion. It is probably
best known as a treatment for winter colds and flus,
and is sometimes combined with Echinacea
to battle such things. Research is also being done
on its cancer-fighting abilities.
