General Information: A popular candle
fragrance, bayberry grows along the Atlandic coastline
and around Lake Erie as an evergreen shrub. Tradition
holds that a bayberry candle burned on Christmas Eve
will bring you a year of good health, wealth and luck.
Medicinal Uses: Both the wax from
the fruit and the bark/roots are used for a variety
of purposes, including to treat diarrhea, fever, sore
throat, gingivitis and infections. Externally it was
been shown to help itching skin, ulcers, sores, dandruff
and hair loss.
