General Information: Damiana is
a woody shrub that can grow up to two meters tall.
It produces yellow flowers, although the leaves are
what are used medicinally. It is native to Mexico,
South America and similar climates.
Medicinal Uses: Used in ancient
times as an aphrodisiac, it is used today to stimulate
the nervous, hormonal and reproductive systems. Nervousness,
urinary problems, hypertension and problems with the
"female cycles" are all alleged to be helped
by use of damiana.
