General Information: Known by any
number of names, including Iceland Lichen and Comsumption
Moss, Iceland Moss is native to the northern and alpine
areas of Europe. A yellow-green lichen, it thrives
in sub-Arctic conditions and grows on rocks and tree
bark.
Medicinal Uses: Iceland Moss has
traditionally been used as a chest or bronchial aid,
particularly for coughs (it is even added to several
commercial cough remedies). European folk medicine
also used it as a treatment for cancer.
