Common Name: Maca
Botanical Name: Lepidium meyenii
General Information: Supposedly
the fuel that propelled the Chachapoyas Warriors,
maca is grown in Peru's Central Highlands. It's roots
are harvested, dried and ground.
Medicinal Uses: Some call it Peruvian
ginseng, although perhaps Incan Viagra would be more

er, functioning. It is also used to enhance mental
clarity, and some athletes use it as a substitute
to anabolic steroids.
