Common Name: Tarragon
Botanical Name: artemisia dracunculus
General Information: French tarragon,
to be exact. While there is such a creature as Russian
tarragon, French tarragon is the real player here.
Tarragon is an anise-flavored herb used in many culinary
dishes, including all meats, potatoes, tomatoes, cream
sauces, vinegars, etc. Bernaise would not be the same
without it.
Medicinal Uses: Chewing tarragon
will create a numb sensation in your mouth, making
it a mild antidote to tooth ache. It also has antibacterial
qualities and can be used as a help for insomnia.
