Exercising and Vitamin Supplements

Should those engaging in exercise workouts take vitamin supplements?Being deficient in vitamins and minerals can definitely have a detrimental effect on performance when it comes to exercise. Vitamin and mineral supplements can do a number of things for athletes and others who are looking to start or build an exercise regiment, including:

* Boost immune function, speed recovery from illness and injury and help to prevent disease and infection.

* Exercise generates additional stress on the body through the increased oxygen consumption, metabolism and mechanical processes, such as, joint compression and trauma. This state can be held in check by anti-oxidant nutrients.

* Exercise also has an impact on mineral status. For example:

* Chromium deficiencies are possible in athletes who train strenuously.

* Iodine, iron, zinc, and other trace minerals are lost during sweating.

* Calcium intakes are typically low in athlete’s diets and calcium is needed for muscle contraction and nerve impulse transmission and supplementation may be needed to achieve consistent calcium intakes.

  1. The quality of the vitamin supplements has to be considered. Some supplements are no-quality and hence we loose the vitamin it in our digestive system. The system just could not absorb it. D you agree?

  2. Nice, and very informative article about
    Exercising and Vitamin Supplements

  3. I decided to move up from a simple multi-vitamin and decided to go with the best on the market, which is the Dr Max Powers “Anabolic Stack”. The more I research, the more I realize it is a good idea to suppliment the diet with a good multi.

Since I am the gym and working out quite a bit, I could justify stepping up to the Dr Max Anabolic Stack. I have been taking them for almost 3 weeks and seem to have additional energy. I have had no side effects at all and have gotten used to taking all the pills in the morning.

I recommend this product for those that are active and want to ensure they are meeting all their vitamin and mineral needs. If this doesn’t cover it.. nothing will!
