Leafy Greens, Eggs Top Risky Foods List

The Center for Science in the Public Interest has published a list of the ten riskiest foods that are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration, and there are many yummy things on it.

The FDA regulates about 80 of the US food supply, but it is this list of ten items that is responsible for a large chunk (40 percent) of all foodborne related outbreaks. In addition to leafy greens and eggs, the list includes such favorites as potatoes, tuna, oysters, cheese, ice cream, tomatoes, sprouts and berries.

The Center pulled together their list not to bum out the hungry masses, but rather to drum up support for food safety reform that is stalled in the US Senate.
