Macrobiotic Diets

Influenced in large part by Asian cultures and popularized by Michio Kushi, macrobiotic diets are vegetarian and low in fat. Because of their low-fat, high-fiber nature, many macrobiotic diets have also been touted as cancer preventative. Because the selection of foods is so limited in these types of diets, though, many nutritionists warn against adopting a strict macrobiotic diet approach.
