Raja Yoga

Raja is a Sanskrit word meaning "royal" or "royal science of self-control." As such, it shouldn't come as a surprise that meditation is one of its top focuses. Raja yoga follows a strict adherence to the eight limbs of yoga set out in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. A very spiritual form of yoga, it relies on concentration, detachment, and the aforementioned meditation to achieve union with one's higher self (or God). Hatha yoga is a branch of Raja yoga.
